I started in the insurance and investment business in October of 1994, and have been self-employed since that time.

Brook, Josie, and Lydia are my daughters, we all enjoyed taking trips to Lake Cumberland while we all enjoy the water sports together.  As they have grown up the trips do not happen like they used to when they were young.

I am the son of Larry and Linda Phillips and grew up on a livestock and grain farm in Hardin County, Ohio with 3 siblings, Lori, Diane and Todd. We grew up on a farm that is now a nature preserve called the Lawrence Woods.

From a business point of view, I truly enjoy helping people just starting with retirement savings or at the point of retirement and uncertain what to do next.  The amount of people I have met and talked to over the years has been so enjoyable.  We as an office try to make people feel comfortable and understand the choices and let them make decisions that fit for them as life changes. We offer so many different concepts and products that an appointment is the best way to get to see my business side and how we operate here at Financial Matters.

From a personal side, I have several friends and family to do things with such as water skiing and wake surfing, boating on Lake Cumberland and riding the Harley. I also enjoy old cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles; social interaction with friends; outdoor activities; the Hardin County Fair; and listening to several genres of music.

Abby is my girlfriend and has definitely became a big part of my life.  She and I are together if I am not at work.  Walks, Harley rides and cars are part of our hobbies.
